Stress is a common struggle amongst college students. Beads of sweat can start to form when the homework assignments start piling up, along with due dates flooding your calendar. It’s crucial to take care of your body during times of pressure and anxiety to be your best self.

It’s a Sunday night, and you bury your gaze in the depths of your closet ready to pick out your ensemble for the anticipated workday that follows. You may tell yourself “too loud,” “too busy” or “neutral colors only.” At one point your head may even spin from trying to solve the mystery of what business casual attire actually is. So, you play it safe, and pull out the button-down, white collared shirt and black slacks. But what if business casual isn’t always so black and white?

Living, learning and evolving: that’s what life’s about. In order to achieve growth and success, it is essential and only natural for one to set goals for themselves. Accomplishing goals can be intimidating sometimes, and also challenging, but that’s what makes the outcome of achieving them more precious.

Who said women can’t be friends? Ladies and gentlemen, sexism isn’t a thing of the past, it has evolved with us. Pinning women against each other has become the social norm of the internet.

People say to enjoy life, and live in the moment. My question is how can you truly enjoy the moments in life if you never pay attention to them? Have you ever attended an outing with your friends, and their faces were gleaming with brightness the majority of the time? Not because they were simply enjoying themselves at the gathering, or were just told a funny joke. The culprit was actually unmasked to be the bright screens of their cell phones highlighting their faces.

Kent State student Gillian Feasel, a sophomore geography major, conquers her challenges with balancing school and training to be in the Marine Corps.

Kent State’s ROTC program received new uniforms for women that are tailored to fit the female body. Research for this uniform started in 2009, which was funded and approved by The Army Uniform Board.

Blake Stringer , an assistant professor in the College of Aeronautics and Engineering at Kent State, has been granted $130,000 for a one-year drone research project funded by the army research laboratory. He is set to conduct a study on propulsion systems for drones used in the military.

Kent State receieved more than $1,030,000 worth of donations on Giving Tuesday, a national event where people are encouraged to give back to their community. Kent State president Beverly Warren called the amount raised the university’s most successful Giving Tuesday. This is the second straight year the university has raised more than a million dollars.

ROTC Students will have a night of celebration and honor during the annual Military Ball hosted by both Kent State and Youngstown State.

On Oct. 1, in 2020, the Army Combat Fitness test will be gender and age- neutral. “I’ve taken it, it is hard, but not overly difficult," said LTC David Simms, a professor of military science in Army ROTC. "I’m a 41-year-old man who has spent more than four years in combat and I have two back surgeries, one neck surgery and a reconstructed shoulder. It’s fine."

The Center of Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation is hosting its third annual pitch competition this spring. The CEBIpitch competition will give student entrepreneurs a chance to win cash prizes totaling in $30,000 to fund their business ideas.

Downtown Kent’s 11th annual Ghost Walk drew in an eager crowd of participants Saturday night. The walk is Kent’s warm welcome to the October month leading up to Halloween.
